Landslide In Nepal Sweeps 2 Buses Into Trishuli River; 7 Indians Along With 60 Passengers Missing



In Nepal, 7 Indians along with at least 60 passengers went missing today when two buses were swept away by the Trishuli River in Simaltal in Chitwan Ikshakamana.

 

Two buses carrying passengers went missing in the Trishuli River early this morning in the landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section in Chitwan district. The buses were carrying a total of 65 passengers. Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indra Dev Yadav, confirmed that two vehicles fell off the river at 3:30 this morning. 

 

According to Nepal Police, a bus of Ganapati Deluxe heading to Gaur of Rautahat from Kathmandu was carrying 41 persons and the next bus Angel Deluxe on its way to Kathmandu from Birgunj had 24 persons on board, including 7 Indians travelling in it.

 

Deep divers along with Disaster management trained manpower from Nepal Armed Police Force are carrying out the rescue operation and the rescue workers are clearing the landslides. PM Of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal has tweeted that he is deeply saddened by the incident and has directed government officials to take swift action.
